You can surely do that in LPU. I personally did quite same. My branch in Diploma and B.Tech is different. And there is no question asked in LPU for that. Also, it is great to know that you did a Diploma and trying to apply for B.Tech, as it is the best way to pursue your graduation. Also, there is a special treatment for lateral entry students in LPU. When you take admission in LPU via lateral entry you will be with the lateral entry students only so that you cope with all the things in LPU. Also, the LPU NEST fee was waived off (for first attempt as per 2017 batch), which you can give as per your Diploma and 10th score. LPU NEST fees need to be paid by the normal students.

(IT/ Computer Science) with Mathematics/ Statistics as a subject at 10+2 level or at graduation level with at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ST Category) in the qualifying examination from any recognised University. MCA 3 years duration) eligibility criteria : Passed Bachelors Degree of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate Level.
