Hello Nishar Ahmed, with both of these institutions having great name for themselves in academics and also having achieved a gradation of "A+" by NAAC, is quite tough to compare these two colleges for studying any subject in Bachelor of arts. Zakir Husain college offers almost 26 different streams or varieties of graduations in Bachelor of arts whereas Maitreyi college offers only 8 varieties in Bachelor of arts. So this may decide a student's choice as to which college to select based on the specialisation one wants to do in this stream of arts. Another criteria is the placements. In this area perhaps Maitri out scores Zakir Hussain. They have declared on their webpage that almost 60% of more than 200 students placed last year were from the stream of arts. Be that as it may both colleges appear to have a very nice set of teachers and academic programs as well as varieties of co curricular activities for students for the overall development. This makes both the college almost appear at the same footing while selecting. Of course if one is a male student then there is no choice but to go for Zakir Hussain college since Maitreyi is only for girls. But overall I would say Zakir Hussain is better than Maitreyi for BA. Best wishes to you.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Maitreyi College was established in the year 1967 as an institution to cater for the growing need for an exclusive women's college in Delhi. It is named after the vedic period sage Maitreyi. Since then it has come a long way. In year 2022, it was ranked 34th in all India ranking released by NIRF and was graded A+ It offers 18 graduation and two PG courses and at last count more than 4000 girls were studying in this college. College admits students only in online mode and that too via a special portal opened for this purpose by Delhi University. Admissions are granted by Delhi University based on ranking obtained in CUET conducted by NTA. The only relevant criteria is for students to have scored at least 50% marks in their 12th standard examination. Concession of 5% in this is given to students from rSC / ST categories. Only Indian students are allowed. For foreign nationals, there is a separate scheme for admission. Best wishes to you.

Zakir Husain Delhi College traces its origin to more than 300 years ago to a Madrasa. After many tumultuous events, the college as we see today was the final avatar. ZHDC and MC, both have obtained grades of "A+" and are well known for good faculty and academics. Both colleges are in demand by students during the admission process. Frankly speaking there is nothing to differentiate between these two except that Maitreyi is women only while Zakir Husain is co-ed. Hence boys have no choice but to go to Zakir Husain while girls can opt out of the two. In final analysis, one can say that both colleges are of equal calibre and a student can choose anyone without losing out on anything. Best wishes to you.

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Maitreyi college under Delhi University is a college exclusively for women and in addition it is ranked very high at about 36 in NIRF ranking. Due to this hi ranking lots of girls prefer this college for admission since academics and subsequent placements are also quite reputable at this Institute. All these things combined to make cut off or closing ranks for c u e t very tough for getting admission in this college. Though the college does not say so in its prospectus, it does announce round wise cut off in percentile of marks obtained in c u e t. For the famous Science stream of graduation a student must have a percentile of above 95 to have a reasonable chance of getting admission. National testing agency announces percentile wise results for the exam held for admission to Central University is like Delhi University and hence percentage is not an indicator to understand whether one will get admission or not. In simple terms to get admission in Maitreyi college for BSc one must have a percentile of 95 and above. Best wishes to you.
