In order to gain admission into the B.E. / B.Tech courses at Mookambigai College of Engineering (MCE) in Keeranur, the following eligibility criteria must be satisfied by the applicant :-Academic Qualifications:The applicant must have attended higher secondary or an equivalent examination with core subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.In these subjects, a specific percentage of aggregate marks is usually required which is about 50% and above for some courses and categories of candidates up to 60% and above for most cases.Entrance Examination:The admission is mostly on the basis of merit list drawn up for the purpose of TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) which is basically an engineering counseling process in Tamil-Nadu based on the marks obtained by the candidate in 12th standard. This TNEA is conducted by the government of Tamil Nadu for the admission of engineering candidates to various colleges including Mookambigai College of Engineering.There is no separate entrance testing for MCE but, the TNEA rank that was assigned during the counseling process is one of the elements for the final selection.Category-specific Relaxation:There may be a concession in the minimum marks prescribed for candidates belonging to the reserved categories (SC/ST, OBC, etc.) as per government norms.

Leading employers attending the colleges recruitment exercises include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, HCL, IBM. Regarding salary packages, the average package offered to the students is about 3 to 4 LPA, but there are some students who have been placed at astonishing figures of 10 LPA.
