On Highlights
Q:   Does the BTech Electrical Engineering syllabus focus more on theory or practical application?
A:

The syllabus for the B Tech EE course focuses on both aspects because they are equally important for you to do well at the workplace in the future. There are theory classes to make you understand the meaning and workings of the Electrical Engineering concepts, and practical lab work and industrial training to give you a glimpse of the real-world applications.

Q:   What is covered in Machine Design subject in B.Tech course?
A:

Dear candidate, the subject of Machine Design basically teaches you about the designing fundamentals of various types of machinery across industries. You get to learn about the different ways in which elements can be combined to form an equipment or machine system and get the work done in an effective manner.

The knowledge of this subject is very important for a mechanical engineer as he/she will have to put this to use in the future whenever they enter the workforce as a mechanical engineering professional.

Hope this cleared your doubt. Have a good day.

Q:   What are the standard books followed for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering course at IITs?
A:

Hi candidate!

While specific books may vary between IITs, some commonly used books in BTech Mechanical Engineering are as follows:

  • “Textbook of Engineering Mechanics” by R.K Bansal
  • “Industrial Engineering and Management” by O.P. Khanna
  • “Fundamentals of Thermodynamics” by Richard E. Sonntag
  • “Mechanical Engineering Design” by Joseph Shigley and Charles Mischke
  • “Manufacturing Engineering and Technology” by S. Kalpakjian and S.R. Schmid

Hope it cleared your query. Good day!

Review of Murshidabad Institute of Technology.
Placements: Well every year lots of students got placement by well-known companies like Tata, Birla, etc. Approximately 60% of students were placed in our course. The highest package was 22 thousand, and the lowest package was 12 thousand. Tata Company is the top recruiter. Approximately 90% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Fabulous facilities are provided by the college. Lots of classrooms, including a smart classroom, which was very useful for us, are there. Moderate-quality hostels are there. Such a good and very nice college. You can take admission for your better experience.
Faculty: The college experience is often a transformative period, blending academic learning with personal growth. It provides a chance to explore diverse subjects, develop critical thinking, and build lasting relationships. Beyond academics, college life teaches independence, time management, and resilience. Engaging in extracurricular activities and networking with peers and professors enriches the overall experience, preparing students for future challenges.
Other: We enjoyed it very well. I think we needed some more practical classes from the college.

Very good college for 3 years.
Placements: All faculty are very good. If you ask about placement, then in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, all students get jobs. In our college, Tata, L&T, Hitachi, and many more companies come for internships and job placements. So, it is a good choice for spending 3 years in this college.
Infrastructure: There are AC smart classrooms, computer labs, and some AC labs. Here, you get Wi-Fi in the AC computer classrooms, but you must get permission from your computer teacher. The classrooms are very cool, so you don’t need any additional cooling devices or AC.
Faculty: Excellent teaching is provided; no other private coaching is needed. The teachers are very friendly, and the other staff are also friendly. If you continue your studies properly, then you will be ready for any kind of diploma-level job and industrial training-related topics.
Other: Here you get scholarship also teachers are very helpful to get anything.

It is the best government college for Diploma students and worst for the agriculture course.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 3 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is Rs. 90,000 per annum. The average salary package offered is 1 LPA. Mainstream companies do not visit our college for the agricultural engineering department. The top companies do not visit our college, but many small companies visit our college for placements. About 60% of the students got an internship in various companies and got selected for a job.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility, but it has a very good campus. Our college has a well-maintained library. The food served in the hostel is good. It is an anti-ragging campus. Labs are brilliant. Lab workers are kind and helpful to every student. The quality of the food served is very good, and the menu of food refresh every day. Medical facilities are also good in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good, well-trained and very kind to every student. The principal is very good. They are very supportive. We are glad that they were our teachers. In every trade, the teachers teaching was the best. They take a mock test to us for making us good in every subject.

Overall, it was a good college for admission.
Placements: An average number of placements were provided. A sum of 70% of students were placed in companies, while others had to search on their own. There were no specific companies for recruiting. Many private company internships came to the university, and students had to pursue them with their own money.
Infrastructure: There was not much good infrastructure available in the university. But if you wanted an average level of education, you could obviously pursue it at this university.
Faculty: Good. All teachers were very helpful in the B.Tech section, and all were well-qualified in their field of education. They could guide you through any condition and were very knowledgeable. Obviously, the course curriculum was industry-relevant, and we were doing internships.

However, generally, placement ranged from 70% to 90% or higher, with variations based on the course and institution. Salary packages also varied widely, with the highest packages ranging from 3 to 31 LPA and the lowest packages ranging from 2.3 to 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostels, sports, and games were available. The hostel facilities, mess food, canteen food, medical facilities, and sports and games were generally considered to be of good quality at most colleges and universities, with some variations in specific aspects.
Faculty: In general, faculty members at the college appeared to be well-qualified and knowledgeable, with a focus on helping students succeed. The curriculum was generally considered relevant and prepared students for the workforce, though some specific course reviews noted a mix of excellent and less-than-stellar teaching quality. The semester exams were generally considered of average to moderate difficulty, and the pass percentage was generally above 50%, with some courses reporting a higher pass percentage.
Other: The campus was very good.
