Pondicherry Engineering College provides for an integrated development with a strong number of extracurricular activities and clubs. More than 20 student clubs and organizations; more than 10 technical clubs; and more than 5 cultural clubs. During my years at Pondicherry Engineering College, the selection procedure comprised online registration on the PEC website, which charges an application fee of INR 500-1,000. The application form is properly filled with the requirements and submitted. Requirements Upload 10th and 12th marks sheets, JEE Main/ GATE admit card, and Transfer Certificate. The Eligible candidate participates in CENTAC counseling for B.E./B.Tech and GATE-based counselling for M.E./M.Tech. PhD candidates clear the entrance test and interview for selection. Dates/Closing Application dates: June 15, B.E./B.Tech July 15, M.E./M.Tech January 15, Ph.D. June-August: Timeline for Admission 10th, 12th marks sheets, Admit card of JEE Main/GATE, Transfer certificate, Category certificates.  

Pondicherry Engineering College disburses many scholarships to meritorious and deserving students. It makes sure that 90% of the students avail of scholarships. Major Scholarships: Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: INR 10,000-20,000 per year Government of Puducherry Scholarship: INR 5,000-10,000 per year Central Sector Scholarship: INR 10,000-20,000 per year Alumni Scholarship: INR 5,000-10,000 per year Eligibility: 60-90% aggregate marks with an annual family income of below INR 2-6 lakhs. Other Facilities: SC/ST students are exempted from the fee structure. BC/MBC students have fee exemption to the extent of 50%. More than 500 students have received scholarships every year, which is a total of INR 1.5 crore. The scholarship is offered in amounts ranging from INR 5,000 to INR 50,000 per year. 

The dates of JEE Main results are generally in February for Session 1 and May for Session 2. Pondicherry Engineering College does accept scores from JEE Main for admission. Cut-off ranks in PEC as follows: General (15,000-25,000), OBC (20,000-30,000), SC (40,000-50,000), ST (50,000-60,000). Counselling would typically start with registration in June, seat allocation in July, and admission confirmation in August. Closing ranks in PEC: Computer Science: 18,000-22,000; Electrical: 25,000-30,000; and Mechanical: 20,000-25,000. The results of JEE Main Session 1 will be declared by 6th February and Session 2 by 18 May. The ranks will vary year to year and also category-wise.

For B.E./B.Tech at PEC, Pondicherry Engineering College the eligibility criteria include 10+2 in PCM (40 % for SC/ST), at least 45 % aggregate. Admission is through a valid score in JEE Main with 50 % weightage, +2 marks 30 % weightage and Normalized marks in PCM with 20 % weightage. Pondicherry Technological University doesn't accept CAT exam score for MBA admission. The university only accepts MBA admission via the counselling process. Candidates must have a valid qualification before applying for the course. Eligible candidates are further required to submit all the relevant documents for proof. Only eligible candidates can only move forward with the application process. Applicants must have bachelor's degree with 50% aggregate (45% for the reserved category) or equivalent CGPA in the degree examinations.  

To secure admission in Pondicherry Technological University MBA course applicants must ensure to adhere to the below-mentioned eligibility criteria before filling out the application form, failing to which the candidature will stand canceled. After the application process candidates must participate in PGAC counselling process which is conducted in two rounds: offline counselling and a mop-up session for admission. During the counselling session, the candidates will be called in their merit order to choose an available seat among their eligible preferences. The final admission is based on the merit rank, category of the candidates, and availability of vacancies at the time of counselling. All admissions made by PGAC are provisional and subject to approval by Puducherry Technological University / Pondicherry University.
