To gain direct admission to the SP Jain School of Global Management, students must normally meet specific eligibility requirements and complete the required admissions process. First, you must have a suitable undergraduate degree and an excellent academic record. SP Jain additionally demands applicants to have competitive results on standardised tests such as the CAT, GMAT, GRE, or the company's own admission exam, SPJET. In addition, you may be required to demonstrate work experience, particularly for postgraduate degrees. Once shortlisted, candidates go through an evaluation procedure that includes interviews and essays. Meeting the basic prerequisites does not ensure immediate admission, as SP Jain analyses candidates holistically, taking into account academic performance, test scores, professional experience, and leadership potential.

To enroll for any UG or PG programs, it is mandatory for the student to appear and clear the JET exam. The qualification required to apply for the programme is a minimum of 50% marks in the respective bachelor's degree from a recognised university. While "easiness" is subjective, admittance to SPJIMR is often difficult due to the institute's high requirements. Prospective students can boost their chances of acceptance with determination, a solid application, and sufficient preparation, even if it remains a tough procedure.SPJIMR does not have any quota, management or otherwise. The assessment of an applicant is on the basis of his/her profile, the qualifying entrance scores and the interview process. SPJIMR communicates directly with all the shortlisted candidates.

PGDM and MBA both are management courses at Master’s level. PGDM full form is Post Graduate Diploma in Management which means it is a Diploma course. MBA on the other hand is a degree course. While, there is not much difference between the two in the job market, a degree is always preferred over a diploma. At the end of a PGP and PGDM course, the candidate is offered a Diploma whereas at the end of an MBA programme, the candidate receives a Degree. Many students think that a Diploma course does not hold the same value as a Degree course but that is not true. Many Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other top B-Schools such as XLRI, Jamshedpur and SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai offer PGP or PGDM courses. Most of these institutes are autonomous bodies (not affiliated to any University). Between a PGDM and an MBA, the difference is of nomenclature but not of professional value. Both MBA and PGDM are highly valued in the job market as they are same in terms of course accreditation, curriculum and pedagogy. Another key factor is the institute. For example, a PGDM course from XLRI Jamshedpur will have more professional value than a degee course from a state university.
