Both are top B-School of the country in term of infrastructure, placement, faculty and brand name. SPJIMR also have best of placement from the industry as JBIMS. But being a 50 years old Institute JBIMS would be leading the race, leader of the legacy known as "CEO factory", being producing CEO like Chanda Kochar, Uday Kotak and many more top industry leaders presently. So I would suggest doing from JBIMS would be an added advantage, also it has small batch size as compared to SPJIMR so it will be also beneficial for the candidate to excel in small batch as compared to the big batch of SPJIMR. You would be a part of the CEO Factory after getting a tag from JBIMS.
Also, the total fee for the program is also very low as compared to SPJIMR.
So hope this information helps the candidate.
All the best!!

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans SP Jain Institute of Management and Research is one of the finest institutes of Asia and has been ranked in amongst the top 25 institutes of the world where students want to pursue their management education. That in itself is a huge evidence that the students and the recruiters globally find the students globally employable and capable of working in challenging environments.
As far as placements is concerned the batch of 2017 notched a new high as the highest salary on campus jumped to Rs. 39.5 lakhs per annum and the average salary rose to Rs. 20.9 lakhs from Rs 19.3 lakhs last year. More than 90 percent of the PGDM class of 2017 received offers of Rs. 15 lakhs or more with a median salary of Rs 20 lakhs.
The placements performance signaled heightened interest in recruitment from the campus of SPJIMR.

SPJIMR is one of the top 10 B-Schools in the country. As per my experience it is a journey towards becoming an empathetic leader. The diverse curriculum with focus on non classroom initiatives such as rural internship, global fast track program and mentorship program provide a 360 degree learning experience to an individual. Also being in the financial capital of India gives you an unparalleled exposure which only few B-Schools in India enjoy.

SP Jain does not participate in CAP rounds. With that low score, JBIMS and KJ Somaiya seems impossible, but you might get Chetana and Iess descent colleges for placements.

Analysis of profile is done at the shortlisting stage and not individually. However, if your CAT/XAT scores meet our minimum requirements (75%+ in all sections and 85%+ overall) then SPJIMR can accept your scores in case you register for PGDM admissions. Further, for the graduation and higher secondary scores, we don't have any specific cutoff. A decent profile is what SPJIMR looks for in a candidate.
