Welingkar is a better option as they provide a lot of opportunities in terms of placements, student exchange programs and also the Global Citizenship Programme which is offered only in Welingkar. This distinguishes Welingkar from all other colleges. The course offered is very much practical in nature also they are offering a lot of specialisation courses as nowadays companies want people who have a particular specialisation like there is MBA in Media and entertainment, Health care, Rural, Busniess Analytics and Business Design. Based on your preference you could also opt for such specializations if you want.

There are various classroom and non-classroom programmes that are organized during that duration in order to give the students a first-hand experience of Global Management. Both the institutes are really good. Being a student Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, I would be able to provide you a better information about SPJIMR. When it comes to academics SPJIMR rigorously focuses on academics with an emphasis on providing case-based knowledge as well as providing hands-on experience of the entire business scenario through simulation studies. The faculty is of international repute and is globally known in their field of expertise. Also, we have visiting faculty from international institutions as well as from corporate.
As far as non-classroom activities are concerned, SPJIMR is one of the few institutes in India which gives exposure to its students through social internship through an NGO as well as Abhyudaya programme where we have to provide mentorship to a child from a Mumbai slum.

IIMB brand name will trump that of SP Jain's anyday. It is what you feel adds more value to your profie.
PS - I am really sorry, I don't have as much knowledge on the two programs, as I would have liked, to answer this question.
