Review of SCM Air Technical Training Institute.

Placements: Our college does not provide placements. Volvo visits our college and conducts interviews. Our college does not assist us with placements. Students got off-campus placements in Pebble.

Infrastructure: There is no canteen in our college. Machines are not good in labs.

Faculty: Our teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. They show partiality during exams. They mistreat students. Exams are good.

Other: Our college does not provide hands-on experience. It does not guide us. This course is for 3 years. It does not provide practical knowledge. I chose this course because of my parents' suggestions.

This college is one of the finest place to begin your journey in aviation field.

Placements: The placements quality is very good as they are tied up with Airlines company like Air Asia, Air India, Go Air etc. I personally feel that if someone focused on his/her curriculum irrespective of the placement tension, the person will be benifited. Although it's a big deal but if someone wants the job in AME field then he/she should be more focused on their module examinations as its play a key role. Most of the students from my senior batch got placement in Air Asia and Go Air. And I do believe the smooth placement process will be undergone in our cases as well as with our junior batches. So let's hope for the best.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is something in which the college authorities are looking at right at this moment. As the college established in 1948 so you can imagine it's age. Yes it's quite old in look and getup. But the hanger management, the workshop management and the faculty group is so nicely organised. Infrastructure is not a big deal in this particular case.

Faculty: The faculty members are so experienced in the working field as well as academic career. The teacher student bonding are so high. Even the non teaching staffs are so helpful in terms of guidance. The Chief Instructor is a retired AME and sometimes he used to take our classes as well. Another faculty is from Air Force. He used to be a reputed engineer there. As they share their knowledge as well as their practical experiences with us which is so much worthy I think. Its priceless.

Other: The college also arrenge some of the special scholarships for bright students.

A pioneer institution in aviation sector.

Placements: It is quite unbelievable that the placements are extraordinary for our seniors in the aviation sector. Hope I will be able to get this too. As I'm a student of aircraft maintenance engineering and as I get to know the present posting of my seniors in various airlines. I can assure you that it is an institution where you can give you wing to your dream.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that much good, but the credibility and accountability of my college are so good. They are so honest with their job in order to make us learnt. But hope the college administrators will look into it soon. They will surely be able to provide all the necessary as per the requirements to the students. Let's hope for the best. As far as I know them, they are very honest about their job.

Faculty: The faculty is extremely good. Specifically in the course of aircraft maintenance engineering. Well as I'm a student of this AME course, so I only know about this particular branch. Right now there is a huge demand for AME's not only in India but globally. So it's a great journey, to begin with.

SCM Air Technical Training Institute has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

After 10th Diploma

Candidate must have passed the 10th standard (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physical Science/Science and Mathematics among others as subjects securing at least 35% marks (no rounding up) in aggregate as per AICTE norms excluding the marks of the subject taken as additional. Candidates appearing in the Secondary (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in 2021 with English, Physical Science/Science and Mathematics among others as subjects may also apply. However, conforming to the benchmark of 35% marks (no rounding up as per AICTE norms) in aggregate excluding the marks of the subject taken as additional, is a must, failing which candidature is liable to be cancelled even after selection in JEXPO-2021. Candidate should not be born after 01.07.2006 and there is no upper age limit.
