Founded in 1928, the Bombay Flying Club is a distinguished institution. It is situated in Maharashtra's Mumbai. The Bombay Flying Club provides 15 different full-time and part-time degree, diploma, and certificate programs. There are five UG courses available through the Bombay Flying Club. Established in 2006, the Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology (TIAT) is a private institution. Situated in Kandivali East, Mumbai, Maharashtra, the institute has been approved by both the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) of the Government of India, New Delhi. Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology offers the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program, a B.Sc. program, and an industrial Science Diploma that are all accredited by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. A B.Sc. from TIAT (Mumbai) gives you fewer chances of placement than the Bombay Flying Club. The Bombay Flying Club gives 90% placement rates. Fees are almost the same in both institutions.
TIAT is the first institute to ever launch a Basic Maintenance Training Organisation in India to get approval from EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), GCAA- (General Civil Aviation Authority, UAE), CAAB (Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh), BCAA (Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority), and EASA PART 147 approval for Type Training of the A320 family along with CEO and NEO engines. This approval has been given to impart basic Aircraft Maintenance Training.
