It has a well-maintained campus, skilled faculty, good placements, and strong clinical training.
Placements: In our General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) batch at Shalinitai Meghe College of Nursing, around 80-85% of students get placed in reputed hospitals and healthcare institutes. The average package ranges between 2.5-3.5 LPA. The highest package offered is 4.2 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Wockhardt Hospital, Jupiter Hospital, and government healthcare facilities. About 90% of students got internships in multispecialty hospitals like AVBRH and Sawangi Meghe. Roles offered to students are staff nurse, ICU nurse, and community health worker, which helped us step confidently into the healthcare field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our GNM course is quite student-friendly, with spacious classrooms, fully equipped nursing and science labs, a well-stocked library, and reliable Wi-Fi that supports our learning. The hostel is safe and well-maintained with clean rooms, timely water supply, and round-the-clock medical facilities. The mess serves simple but hygienic food. We also have access to sports grounds and indoor games to keep a healthy balance between study and recreation.
Faculty: Faculty members in our GNM course are experienced and supportive. They explain concepts in a way that is easy to understand, especially during practical sessions. The course curriculum is well-structured and keeps us updated with real-world nursing practices. They make us ready for hospital duties. Semester exams are moderately challenging but fair. With proper study, most students pass exams. Around 80-85% of our batch cleared each term successfully.
Other: I chose the GNM course because of my passion for patient care and the opportunity it gives to make a real difference in people's lives. The best part of the course is hands-on clinical training and the supportive learning environment. I do wish there were more interactive workshops and frequent practical exposure. Our campus is peaceful and well-connected, with occasional fests, extracurricular activities, and access to scholarships that help students from different backgrounds.
