Master of Landscape Architecture - Batch of 2020

Overall, this is the best college for the Master of Landscape Architecture course.
Placements: Approximately 76% of students are placed in our study. The biggest recruitment agencies are Ignis Partners, Shaheer Associates, LandArt Designs, etc. The highest and lowest salary packages are 25 LPA and 5 LPA, respectively. The average salary is 15 LPA. Top roles include Landscape Architecture Manager and Landscape Designer. About 66% of students get internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library are excellent. The hotels and food in the campus mess are far better than those in top NITs and IITs. We have facilities for football, basketball, badminton, volleyball, cricket, and table tennis. The most popular sports are cricket and basketball. People have more leisure time in the evening, and both students and teachers participate in various sports. We also have inter-college and intra-college sports and cultural festivals.
Faculty: The college has some of the best teachers in the entire country. Each faculty member is well qualified and has a mix of experiences, including both industry and teaching experience. The academic work stimulates students with regular field meetings and feedback on academic achievement. Tests are easy, and the pass rate is 77%.

Review of SPA Bhopal - School of Planning and Architecture.
Placements: Placements are good and vary depending on the course because the training and placement department has good relations with industries. The alumni invited plenty of companies for placement, along with facilities to conduct exams and personal interviews. Companies like PwC, Tata Trust, CIDCO, Essar, JLL, Oberoi, KPMG, Shapoorji, and Knight Frank regularly visit every year for campus recruitment. There is a 50-60% placement record. The salary package offered ranges from 3-6.5 LPA for freshers. Companies conduct various interview rounds for placement selection.
Infrastructure: The hostel and mess facilities are absolutely awesome. Twin sharing rooms with an attached balcony are available. It has fully furnished rooms with all basic amenities required by students, like 24x7 unlimited light and Wi-Fi facilities, which add stars to the glory of our hostels.
Faculty: Faculty members are very much qualified, highly experienced, and hardworking. We have permanent faculty members and also visiting faculty members, where visiting faculty are a group of architects who are still practicing. Faculty members are very dedicated to making our learning fun and better. They are always available even after college hours and are always willing to help us out, even with non-academic problems. The exam structure is mainly written in each semester with internals and finals. The project submission and seminars are very frequent. We are given a schedule of presentations to be prepared. The course curriculum is simple but changing over time, as planners have to be aware of current conditions and issues in cities and the world. There is an overall course objective, which needs to be fulfilled at the end of the last semester. There are 4 assessments in total, of which one is a mid-term exam and end-semester exam.

Master of Urban Design - Batch of 2021
4.6
3Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Placements are average in SPA Bhopal.
Placements: It's a course where there aren't many campus placements. A few come and take a select few students. They generally check the CGPA and portfolio of the students and choose the tentative students based on that. The interview process usually consists of a few general and a few professional questions. The tentative percentage of students placed is somewhere between 20 and 30 percent.
Infrastructure: The hostel is one of the best features of the college. The rooms are clean and airy with private balconies every 2 rooms. The rooms are shared, 2 students each room. The rooms are spacious and designed well. The campus is residential, so all the students are house in the college and adequate seats are available for every student. The washrooms are clean. There is a courtyard for students where games can be played. There are also common rooms, a gym, a music room and a tv area.
Faculty: The course Masters of planning is suited for student who are interested in broader scope of urban development and sustainability. The course is fun and enjoyable, with site visits and works. The exams are moderate; it's not that hard for paper or for viva. It will, according to externals, mostly bring experienced externalsThe faculty members are highly qualified and have a lot of experience. The faculty members will clarify any doubts for the student and we can call the faculty members if we have doubt. or approach their cabins. There will be minimum of 2 faculty members for one subject and for the main subject, there will be 3 faculty members.
Other: Freshers, Farewell, Convocation, Founder's Day, Sports meet & all regional festivals like Janmashtami, Holi, Durga Puja, Lohri, Pongal, Saraswati Puja, and Sankranti are celebrated throughout the year and the whole college participates in them and enjoys them. This is the best thing: there is unity in diversity in our college; we don't differentiate and give equal importance to all the festivals; our college is inclusive in nature.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) - Batch of 2028
3.2
2Placements3Infrastructure2Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Placements are poor, faculty is okayish at best, hostels are good, and infrastructure is okay.
Placements: Only a few students get placed every year as there are very few jobs in architecture, the recruiting companies pay very little, the working hours are very high, and there is no work-life balance. The only way out is to start your own firm. Most students pursue Masters either in planning or go abroad rather than getting placed.
Infrastructure: The hostels are very good; the rooms are big, clean, and adequately maintained; the bathrooms are below average, as there is only one washroom per 30 rooms; every room has a balcony; the mess is in the hostel itself; there is a badminton court, a table tennis table, and a TV in the common. Wi-Fi is okay at best, with speeds ranging from 1 to 60 mbps, depending on the location of your room. Sports facilities are pretty poor. The basketball court is okay, as is the badminton court, but except for that, nothing is taken care of. The football field is small and never has grass. The cricket ground is unusable for more than half of the academic year, and the other volleyball court is substandard. The library is very small, and the selection of books is also underwhelming. The new academic block is very far from the hostels and very inefficient; the old academic block is always filled with Masters students.
Faculty: The difficulty of the semester depends on the faculty you get; there are some egoistic teachers who will put you back a year without a second thought, and there are teachers who will pass you with good marks even when you do just the bare minimum. Life is hectic during the semester with endless submissions. The schedule is tightly paced; you barely get time for extracurricular activities. Half of the teachers are employed just because someone from their family is already teaching here; nepotism in teaching positions is insanity. Husbands, wives, and cousins of teachers are very common. The teachers here are a bit ruthless as an independent institute, and they do what they want.
Other: Events are not the best as the strength of the college is < 1000. There is a very large involvement of faculty and their families as the campus is in a remote location and there is nothing else that their family has to pass their time with. Overall, events are underwhelming and not on par with other larger colleges.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) - Batch of 2028
4.2
3Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
One of the best places to study architecture in India.
Placements: If you are into placements, then please don't choose architecture. Placements are average here; you can expect 4 to 5 LPA. But after a few years of experience, you can be at 10 to 12 LPA. We do have a placement cell but that is not that active at bringing high-paying companies up to this point in time.
Infrastructure: Everything here is top-notch. The campus is less than 10 years old, so most of the amenities are considered quite modern. Our hostel has a warm water facility and it is also cleaned regularly. We can have coolers installed in our rooms but that will include electricity costs. The best part is that each room has a balcony between the rooms for double occupancy and we have communal washrooms. The mess is managed by the students for the students so you can expect good-quality food here. We have a new academic block this year and that building is very beautiful to study in. Our campus has a fast 450 mbps connection in college but only 150 mbps of Wi-Fi in our hostels. The library is small considering the size of the campus, but we have good access to leading online journals. The best part about our campus is that we have no restrictions on entry and exist in our hostels. Any student can work and go to the classroom at any time. We have a good workshop facility and we can do whatever we want there but the only downside is that for using power tools, we need to have permission. Apart from that, other labs are heavily equipped, be they graphic or GIS labs. Compared to other colleges, we are getting far superior labs.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified; most of them are practicing architects and have a good number of projects under their name. They are highly knowledgeable and are very supportive when it comes to learning. Most of them have more than 10 years of experience; you can expect the best teachers in our nation to teach here. The curriculum is very hectic. Some of us have mental breakdowns due to work loads. That is why I am not giving it 5 stars. We work like animals here; day and night, you will see us working in our studios and hostel rooms. And the curriculum is the reason. But it will make you ready for the industry. Our alumni are highly respected, both by us and by the other architects, simply because we are extremely hardworking and dedicated to our job. The semester exams are mostly hilly except for a few subjects like history of architecture and structures. There are one or two students every semester who get the year back. So be very careful and study tight.
Other: The reason I chose this course is because of my love for building. I like seeing unique and beautiful buildings, and I want to design my own house. That is why I chose this course. I was deep into pursuing design, which is why I am here. Also, you can travel a lot while you're here. The best thing about this course is that you can build whatever you can imagine. Its like painting but in 3D. I wish to lower our work loads and also want to have a more practical approach to learning than a theoretical one. Our campus is a very happening place; we have people from every part of the nation and that is the strength of the institution, and you can see every festival from each and every state. We have an event every other second week and that keeps us from getting bored. But the downside is that there is groupism here and people generally divide themselves based on language.

With 98.02 percentile in JEE Main Paper?2 and 70% in boards, your chances of getting B.Arch at SPA Bhopal under the ST female quota are very strong. Past cut? offs for ST category have been well below your score, so you should be in a safe range to secure a seat through JoSAA counselling.
