Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering is basically a Tier 2 institute. The institute clearly defined academic programs and stands between 151-200 in the NIRF list for 2024 in its Engineering category. The institute provides fair infrastructure and placement opportunities too. However, it lacks some prestige and resources that characterize Tier 1 institutes. Comparatively speaking, Tier 1 colleges are more known and therefore of a higher ranking or research output; thus the Sri Venkateswara College is respectable but relatively minor in this larger picture of education.

The competitive placement was in comparison with KKR and KSR Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS). Sri Venkateswara has a very good placement record, but the highest package offered was in KITS at about INR 18 LPA, and the average was INR 3.96 LPA for the batch 2023-2024. Sri Venkateswara has about the highest package of around INR 11 LPA and an average of around INR 5 LPA. Although both institutions have a very good placement cell, the highest salary offers and the overall placements of KITS seem to have an edge over any institution.
