Candidates must pass one year or two-semester master's degree programme after a four year/ eight semester bachelor's degree or two-year/ four semesters master's degree course after three-year bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate can apply for PhD course. There is a 5% relaxation in the aggregate for SC/ST/ Differently-Abled candidates.
Symbiosis Institute of Technology selects candidates for PhD course based on entrance-exam score. The institute considers GATE/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ SET/ SLET for admission to PhD. Aspirants who do not have a valid score in any of the accepted entrance exams can appear for a test conducted by the institute. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round.

BTech is one of the popular courses of SIT Pune. The course is available in seven specialisations, namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, etc. In terms of placement, the the highest package offered during SIT Pune placements 2024 stood at INR 50 LPA. Further, the placement rate recorded during SIT Pune placements 2024 was 77.8%. Earlier, the the highest package offered during SIT Pune placements 2023 so far was INR 36.5 LPA.
Hostel fee differs according to type of accomodation. For three sharing room, you pay INR 1.68 lac and for four sharing you pay INR 1,24 lac. Mess fee per annum is INR 1.19 lac. This is paid in two instalments of INR 59,800 each. You also need to pay refundable hostel deposit of INR 20,000.
SIT Pune offers merit scholarship to semester toppers for UG and PG courses. The scholarship is offered to first four toppers in the order of their merit of every batch of every course in each semester.
The scholarship is offered as per below conditions:
- First topper gets 20%
- Second topper gets 15%
- Third topper gets 10%
- Fourth topper gets 5% rebate
Candidates are required to pay an application fee to register for a course at SIT Pune. The application fee for each SIT programme is INR 1,000. It is a non-refundable fee to be paid via any of the online payment modes. Aspirants applying for SITEEE have to pay an application fee of INR 2,250.
The application fee for MTech is INR 1,500. Below is category-wise application fee for PhD:
