A diploma in design is a short course in various design courses. There are normally for 6 months or 1 or 2 years. These are for people who want to learn skills very quickly and want to spend less time studying them. There is not much focus on the theoretical part or research study. A degree in design is a long term programme. It is for 2- 4 years. Many big institutes like NIFTs, NIDs, IITs provide UG and PG courses in design. The fees of degress courses are high as compared to diplomas, but the opportunities are also high.
