To get admission at the National Institute of Design, Bhopal, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the institute. Candidates must complete Class 12. Students can also check common eligibility and selection criteria from the table presented below:

Candidates will be able to check the cutoff for NIFT Delhi on the website of NIFT: nift.admissions.nic.in. The opening and closing rank of all the programmes is given on this page. This year, NIFT 2026 cutoff is expected to be on the lower side.

NID Ahmedabad offers a BDes programme at the UG level. It is offered in full-time mode for a duration of four years. The total tuition fee of BDes at NID Ahmedabad ranges around INR 18.04 lakh. There are other components included in the fee as well, such as hostel charges, security deposit, etc. The total course fee is INR 19.29 lakh. No you can not join NID Ahmedabad directly since admissions are based on  NID DAT scores only. NID DAT is two-step exam consisting:

Prelims: Objective-type CBT focusing on design aptitude, general knowledge, and observation skills. 

Mains: Studio tests + PI to evaluate design thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

There are 128 seats available for BDes at NID Ahmedabad. Seat allocation is done based on performance in accepted exam and selection round. The seats are reserved discipline-wise as follows:

The fee structure of NID, Bengaluru is expensive as compared to the other design Institutes. The fee ranges between 1,80,000- 2,00,000 for the 1st semester in undergraduate course. The approximate fees for the master's degree is around 11 lakh. You can visit the official website of NID for the latest fee structure. Students have to pay the security fees of 10,000 at the starting of the course. Some fees like the security fees is refundable but the tuition fees is non refundable. There are other charges as well like hostel, mess, transportation. The fees is but high but it is worth it. 

The results of the DAT Prelims will include the qualifying status of the candidate. If the candidate fails to qualify in DAT Prelims, he or she will not be eligible to appear in DAT Mains.

Note that the Desing Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID) has two sub-exams: DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

Both the exams are mandatory.

Also, the final merit list is prepared by giving weighatage to DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. So, if a can candidate fails to qualify DAT Prelims or doesn’t appear in DAT Mains, the candidate will be disqualified from the admission process.

National Institute of Design (NID) Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh offers 1 Course in 3 streams. The courses are, B.Des. in Communication Design, B.Des. in Industrial Design, and B.Des. in Textile and Apparel Design. Admission is given to 75 students only.

Admission is based on the design aptitude test, a national entrance test for admissions, conducted by the institute. 

The eligibility is that a candidate must have cleared class 12th in any discipline from a recognized board.

NID Ahmedabad BDes fee is cumulative of various components. It includes tuition fee, film club, alumni fee, students refundable deposit, etc. The per semester tuition fee amount is INR 2.26 lakh. Minimum qualifying criteria for NID DAT are the minimum marks candidate needs to secure for admission. Category-wise cut-off would be released at the time of counseling and seat allotment. Cut-off would be prepared by considering factors: total number of applicants, merit ranks of applicants in NID DAT, seat intake of applied programme, etc. 

The NID Bangalore MDes fee structure includes various components, such as tuition fees, hostel charges, insurance charges, etc. The tuition fee is the most major component in the fee structure. The MDes tuition fee at NID Bangalore is INR 11.43 lakh for the entire course duration. It is payable over five semestral instalments. Further, a refundable student deposit of INR 10,000 must be paid at the beginning of the first semester. Yes, NID Bangalore MDes offers 19 seats for each specialisation and out of the total seats, 15% seats are reserved for Overseas (supernumerary) category, 10% are reserved for Gen-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, and 7.5% seats are reserved for ST category candidates.
