that offers a sparkling future for those fascinated by gems and jewellery. A new breed of jewellery designers and professionals, such as gem appraisers, are of great demand in a growing market for branded ornaments.
Graduates who specialise in jewellery design and management are in great demand globally for managing the business. Numerous institutes across the country offer various courses in jewellery designing.
For diploma, degree and certificate courses in jewellery designing, one is required to pass HSSC or an equivalent examination from any stream of education. Several short-term courses can also be taken by those who have completed matriculation.
To qualify for the course, a student has to pass an aptitude test followed by an interview.Training in this field may include art classes through technical schools, along with computer-aided jewellery design training in specific software packages like Rhino, Jewel Cad, Auto Cad, 3D Studio, etc. Moreover, the use of Photoshop, Corel Draw and an in-depth analysis of volume, weight and metal composition are generally considered to be vital parts of the jewellery-designing syllabus.
