National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED) is one of the most famous entrance exams for candidates who aspire to join undergraduate level programmes in Design. It is conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad and measures candidates aptitude for the field of design involving general mental ability, worldview, sensitivity to environment, creativity, drawing and communication skills.
NEED 2011 was held on January 9, 2011 and call letters for studio tests or interviews, based on NEED scores of a candidate, is posted on March 25, 2011.
NEED Results 2011
Besides NID, there are other institutes too that accept NEED scores to shortlist candidates for their design programmes. These include:
- D. J. Academy of Design, Coimbatore,
- IILM School of Design, Gurgaon,
- Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi, and
- Wigan & Leigh College, New Delhi.
NEED is just a qualifying examination and does not guarantee admissions. One has to apply separately to the respective institution to seek admission to its programmes.
NID offers 100 seats in Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) to NEED qualifiers, which include:
