3 Students of IIT-Madras received best-ever package of Rs 69.87 lakh/annum

Pocket Gem has hired three computer science students of IIT Madras on a remuneration package of USD 1.37 lakh (around Rs 69.87 lakh) per annum. Pocket Gem is a leading US based-video game company. It was the highest package ever received by a student of IIT, said Deputy Registrar (placement) S Nagarjan, IIT Madras. 
In this year placement process, 47 students have been selected in the last two days whereas last year the figure was only 28. This year figure has again made a record.
The second highest offer was made by a social networking site, Facebook and it has recruited five students on an annual salary of USD 1.25 lakh (Rs 63.75 lakh), while Google has recruited four students at a salary of USD 1 lakh (about Rs 1 lakh) per year.
