AIEEE 2012 will be conducted online in 22 cities
All India Entrance Examination for Engineering (AIEEE) 2012 will go online in 22 cities . Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that conducts the test will not allow pen-paper based test in these 22 centres. The decision has followed the successful pilot tests that were conducted last year. In 2012, CBSE will also allow AIEEE candidates to choose convenient date for the test from a flexible schedule of examination.
AIEEE 2012 online is scheduled to be conducted from May 7 - May 25 next year. However, the pen-paper based AIEEE test will be conducted on April 29, 2012 in 65 centres.
Candidates who will choose to appear in AIEEE 2012 online based test will also be allowed discount between Rs 150 to Rs 300 in the examination fees. In order to facilitate their understanding of the process, CBSE will upload a mock-test software on its website by December 2011. This software will help the examinees to practice for the AIEEE 2012 online test as many times as they want.
Kota, which was removed from the list of AIEEE examination centres, has also been choose as AIEEE 2012 online test centre. For the AIEEE to be held next year, only online applications will be accepted and there will be no offline copies of applications sold to students. The exam fee for AIEEE too will be accepted through credit cards, debit cards or demand drafts onlune.
CBSE will also open facilitation centres in some cities to help students fill up their online applications, as required.
