AIEEE 2011 was scheduled on April 24 but was declared on May 1.

All India Engineering / Architecture Entrance Examination 2011 (AIEEE) is amongst those few much awaited national level entrance examinations conducted by CBSE. Students seeking admission in engineering/architecture bachelor courses take this exam. Each year a large number of students write this aptitude test in order to get through National Institute of Technology (NIT) and various well reputed technical institutes. AIEEE is hugely responsible for providing admissions in most of the private and state level institutions across the country.

Eligibility Criteria for AIEEE 2011

A candidate willing to appear for AIEEE must be 12th pass. A candidate also needs to ensure that he/she has passed his 10+2 in the years 2009, 2010 or 2011 only. Those who wish to apply for Btech exam need to make sure that they have surely studied Mathematics and Physics at 12th class level along with any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Computer Science, Biotechnology or Biology.

While those interested in appearing for architecture programme ought to have studied Mathematics at 12th class level and secured a total of at least 50% marks.

Furthermore, a candidate also needs to make sure that his/her birth date is subsequent to 1st October 1986. Only candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC/PH/ST can have the benefit of 5 years of relaxation in age.

Exam Format of IIT JEE

AIEEE consists of 2 papers. Each paper is of 3 hours duration.

  • B.E./B.Tech- this paper comprises of objective type questions. Questions related to Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry are asked. For every correct answer certain marks are allotted while for every wrong answer there is a penalty in form of negative marking.

B.Arch/B.Planning- this paper comprises of 3 sections:
                  a) Mathematics
                  b) Aptitude test
                  c) Drawing test.

While the first two include objective type questions the latter comprises of questions that test drawing aptitude of a pupil.

Examination Schedule of AIEEE-2011

On Sunday, May 1, 2011, AIEEE will be conducted according to the following schedule:

Paper 1 9:30 to 12:30 hrs. (IST)
Paper 2 14:00 to 17:00 hrs. (IST)

Things to Remember

  • Candidates can only apply for this exam either online or via prescribed application form.
  • Candidates MUST carry their Admit card to the exam and preserve it until the admission procedure is over.
  • Candidates need to bring in their own stationary material as well as colour pencils and crayons.
  • All kind of rough work needs to be done in the paper booklet itself.
