BITSAT 2014: Eligibility and Selection Procedure
BITSAT 2014 is a national level exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani for admission to Integrated First-Degree Programmes at all the three campuses of BITS.
The exam this year is scheduled to be conducted from May 14 to May 29, 2014 and the last date to apply is February 15, 2014.
Please not that the following category of students are not eligible for BITSAT 2014: Students who have cleared Class 12th examination in 2012 or earlier will not be eligible for BITSAT-2014. And students who are currently pursuing studies at any of the campuses of BITS will also not be eligible to appear in BITSAT-2014.
Eligibility criteria for all the programmes
First Degree programmes of BITS except B.Pharma.(Hons):
- Aspirants must have passed the Class 12th examination (10+2) system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- They should also possess adequate proficiency in English.
B.Pharm.(Hons.):
- Aspirants must have cleared the Class 12th examination (10+2) from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- They should also possess adequate proficiency in English.
- Aspirants with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.
Aspirants need to comply with the following conditions for admissions to the programmes:
- Aspirant must have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.
Important: Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2014 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2013 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2014 test.
- If an aspirant has appeared for the exam more than once in Class 12th or its equivalent, his latest performance will be considered only if this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
Selection Procedure:
Admissions to the programmes will be based completely on merit and the scores acquired by the aspirants in BITSAT 2014. Students should make sure that they meet all the eligibility requirements related to minimum marks in Class 12th examination.
