COMEDK UGET 2011 will be held on 8th of May!

Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) conducts a separate Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2011 or COMEDK UGET 2011 for admission to the MBBS, BDS, and BE programs of its member institutions. COMEDK UGET 2011 will be conducted on 8th of May this year and its test scores, which will be declared on 25th of May 2011, will be valid only for admission in the academic year 2011-2012.

Eligibility for COMEDK UGET 2011

For admission to MBBS or BDS programs:

Medical Council of India (MCI) and Dental Council of India (DCI) requires that General Category students must have 50% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects at 10+2 level and at least 50% in the PCB section of COMEDK UGET 2011. SC/ST category students need to secure 40% marks both at 10+2 level and PCB section of UGET 2011. Students who are appearing for UGET should also have English as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level and needs to complete 17 years of age by 31st of December, 2011.

For admission to BE programs:

General Category students must have 50% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects at 10+2 level, with English as one of the compulsory subjects to study, and Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Biology as one of the optional subjects at 10+2 level. No minimum marks are specified for the PCM section of COMEDK UGET 2011. SC/ST/OBC category students of Karnataka need to secure only 45% marks at 10+2 level.

COMEDK UGET 2011 Exam Pattern

• There is a combined paper for Physics and Chemistry, which is compulsory for all UGET candidates. It is of two hours and has a total of 120 questions: 60 in Physics, and 60 in Chemistry. It will be held in the Morning Session on 8th of May, 2011.
• Mathematics is compulsory for BE aspirants and Biology is compulsory for MBBS and BDS aspirants, and the both will be held in the Afternoon session on 8th of May, 2011. Both the papers are of one hour duration and have 60 questions each.

COMEDK UGET 2011 Scoring Pattern

For each correct answer, students get one mark. There is no negative marking in COMEDK UGET 2011 usually but if there is a tie, then the candidates with the least wrong answers or multiple answers gets the precedence.

Reservation of Seats in COMEDK UGET 2011

Colleges with minority status may give preference to respective minority status students. Seats for SC, ST, and OBC categories are reserved for almost all the colleges.
