There is good news for those who are looking for jobs in the energy sector. The demand for trained employees in the Indian solar energy industry is growing. It has been estimated that to fulfill the National Solar Mission target of setting installations with a capacity of 20,000 MW, Indian solar energy industry will need to hire about 1 lakh people.

These employees will be needed across domains, levels, and profiles. The sector will need to invest about Rs 4,337 to reach the target. In the last one year, solar energy has attracted around 40 new players including the likes of IDFC, Emami Group, and Enam Securities.

Solar power projects are luring entrepreneurs because they can be implemented in just 3-4 months as compared to traditional thermal and hydro power projects that have a life span of 25 years. Besides, government is also offering land at lower rates to promote the industry.
