eBay to hire 700 engineers in India in next 3 yrs
Soon after setting up a brand new global development centre (GDC) in Bangalore, eBay, a leading online marketplace now aims to recruit around 700 engineers in India by 2016. Ramkumar Narayanan, general manager of eBay Product Development Centre said in a press statement “We have already hired 300 engineers. So, we need to hire 700 more in the next three years".
The idea behind setting up a center in Bangalore is to tap the technological expertise and IT talent available in the city. The company initially had set up a even bigger centre in Chennai back in 2007. The Chennai centre has a team of 2000 people. The company aims to increase strength at the Bangalore center to a total of 1000 from the current number of 300.
Over the next few years, the company would be recruiting technologists with product development experience across the following functions:
- Platform and application development
- Architecture
- Quality engineering
- Product management
- Marketing and product analytics
- User experience and design
- Information security
