ECET is scheduled to be held on May 24, 2012.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) is all set to conduct its Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) for admission into engineering colleges of Andhra Pradesh. The exam is scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 10 am to 1 pm. JNTUH conducts ECET on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE).

 

This engineering entrance exam proffers admission to 3 year B.E / B.Tech and B.Pharma programs through lateral entry scheme and into B.E./B.Tech first year for Diploma holder candidates. It is expected that 34, 189 candidates will appear for this exam and it will be held at 11 regional centers spread over 62 test centers in Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility criteria

 

 

  • For engineering: Candidates who are currently in the final year/final semester of the Diploma program or who have obtained Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering from State Board of Technical Education and Training of Andhra Pradesh or any diploma recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as equivalent are eligible for entrance test for B.E./B.Tech.
  • For B.Sc Mathematics: Candidates should have passed three year B.Sc. degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the group combination from a recognized university in the state or its equivalent.
  • For Pharmacy: Candidates who have passed or appeared for Diploma in Pharmacy or Intermediate (Vocational Pharmacy course from any institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India) are eligible to appear for the entrance test.

This exam is composed of objective type, multiple choice questions.
