Google offers Rs 93 lakhs pa to DTU student

As per the latest news, fourth year student of Delhi Technological University (DTU) Himanshu Jindal has been offered a whopping Rs 93 lakh per annum from Google USA. The offer includes about 125 Google stock units. US-based EPIC remains the second highest offering Rs 70 lakh.

So far, about 40 recruiters have offered up to 265 jobs in this years’ placement season.

Amid the gloomy economic situation of the nation, eight DTU students have reportedly bagged packages of Rs 70 lakh per annum (pa) during the initial phase of the placement process, according to various media reports.

The placements commenced on August 1, 2013 and 33 companies have visited DTU so far. According to information US-based software firm, EPIC, has made the offer of $105,000 per annum (Rs 70 lakh) to eight final year students. These students are: Nilesh Aggarwal (department of software engineering), Navy Singla, Mohit Yadav, Ekaansh Goel, Ujjwal Arora, Ashutosh Mishra (all from department of computer engineering), Shubham Somani and Akhil Lochab (both from the department of information technology). Last year too, EPIC offered the same package to six students. However, a fall in rupee has resulted in increased value of the offer.

Goldman Sachs offered the highest domestic package of Rs 28 lakhs pa while Amazon offered packages of Rs 19 lakhs pa to eight students.

Some of the firms that have visited DTU so far include EPIC, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Research, Google, Amazon, Adobe, Directi, Walmart, Cisco, C-Dot, Infibeam, Qualcomm, Futures First, HT Media, RBS, SanDisk, Bajaj Auto, ITC and Carrier.

The leading firms are also offering paid internships to the third year students, informed the news reports.
