IIT-B's electric car to race UK's Formula One Circuit
If you are a car racing enthusiast, IIT-B Racing should be a familiar name to you. Known for excellence and innovation, the dynamic team is ready for an electrifying performance at the upcoming FSUK, Europe's biggest annual Formula Student competition held at the famous Silverstone Formula One Circuit, UK in July.
The team at Indian Institute of Technology- Bombay has launched its latest creation Evo1, India's first electric racing car, which will compete at the global level at the premier collegiate design competition in UK. IITB Racing was set up in 2008 by a passionate group of students from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B). The team set out on its success itinerary with its first race car ‘Vayu' (meaning Air) winning the SAE Perseverance Award at the Formula SAE 2008, held in Michigan, USA.
The next year, IITB Racing's second product, an all-terrain vehicle ‘Prithvi' (meaning Earth), won five awards (including Best Engineering Design and Maximum Acceleration) at the Baja SAE India 2009 event in January.
July 2009 saw IITB designed formula car ‘Agni' (meaning Fire) becoming the second best Asian entry at FSUK, held at the Silverstone Formula One Circuit, UK.
Then it was Prithvi 2.0, awarded for being the lightest and the fastest vehicle at the BAJA SAE India 2011 competition last year. Know the team at IIT-B Racing
