IIT-GN's R&D centre to protect Indian heritage

IIT Gandhinagar has decided to establish an R&D center on Archaeology to help protect Indian heritage.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IIT-GN) is going to join hands with institutes like Pune's Deccan College, Chennai-based Sharma Centre for Heritage Education, and MS University of Baroda to establish a center for research and development (R&D) on Archaeology. The R&D centre will facilitate the protection of national heritage with the help of science and technology. Read more

IIT-GN also proposes to offer few post doctoral fellowships to archaeologists and start a minor programme on Archaeology from the next academic session. Know more

Last year, the Institute had signed a MoU with the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) to promote research in fundamental and engineering sciences and areas of interest which are common to them, as well as start a joint Ph.D program. See details
