IIT Madras opening & closing ranks for 2014 admissions

One of the oldest Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), IIT Madras is the third of the 21 IITs to established in the country. The college is known for its undergraduate, post graduate and research programmes offered in 15 different disciplines of Engineering, Humanities, Science as well as in Management.
The college is divided into sixteen academic departments and advanced research centres in the field of engineering and pure science. Departments such as Aerospace engineering, Applied mechanics, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Management Studies, Mathematics, Ocean Engineering, Physics, Metallurgical & Material Engineering and Humanities & Social Sciences offers students with training from highly qualified and experienced faculty. The institute tries to maintain the ratio between teacher and students by housing maximum faculty members i.e. 360 teachers. Students can choose admission in programmes like BTech, Dual Degree (BTech and MTech) programmes, MTech, MS and five-year integrated Master of Arts (MA) programmes.
Candidates aspiring to join the college need to qualify Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2015 to get admission in undergraduate courses either in BTech and Dual Degree (BTech and MTech) programmes.
