JEE Advanced 2013 opening & closing ranks for IITs: Civil Engineering specialisations
Considered to be the second oldest engineering discipline in the world, civil engineering (CE) is known to deal with the designing, constructing and maintaining various aspects of our physical environment. Civil engineers are the people who visualize and build roads, buildings, bridges, dams, canals etc for us.
One of the most popular branches of engineering – civil engineering is offered at both the UG as well as PG level at IITs. The civil engineering departments at the various IITs are actively involved in research and consultancy endeavours. The CE department at IITs is known to maintain and cultivate strong links with the infrastructural industry as well as academic and research institutions both within and outside the country.
