Electrical Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. Aspirants aiming to pursue electrical engineering should not only posses the qualities of an engineer but also that of a researcher and a manager.

As a field of study, Electrical Engineering is offered at both the UG and PG level at the premier IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) besides other technical institutes of the country. The level of teaching and research at the former is widely recognized and has emerged as the pioneer in Electrical Engineering education in India.
