JEE Advanced 2013 Opening & Closing Ranks for IITs: Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering encompasses design, development, construction, operation and execution of marine vessels and structures. It is a relatively young (about 50 years) but extremely varied field of study.
With more than two-thirds of the Earth’s surface being covered in water, this upcoming field has been hailed as the next big thing by various academicians.
Ocean engineering chiefly deals with the engineering of ships, oil rigs and other marine vessels through the application of various engineering sciences such as mechanical, electronic, civil and so on . Naval Architecture involves ship designing elements and how to propel the vessel in ocean and sea.
