JEE Advanced 2014 is the gateway for students to secure a seat at the prestigious IITs: Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mandi, Mumbai, Patna, Ropar, Roorkee and Varanasi as well as the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
JEE Advanced 2014 is scheduled to be conducted on May 25, 2014 wherein, candidates will have to appear for two exam papers, that is, Paper-1 and Paper-2.
We know you must be under a lot of pressure to perform well in this entrance exam and it is at times like these that you, in hurry to reach the examination centre on time, can miss out on carrying some important documents/ things for the exam, which in the end can prove fatal for you. So, consider going through the below mentioned checklist a day before JEE Advanced 2014. In fact, we would suggest that you keep all these things at one place, a night before the D-day so that you have no chance of forgetting them.
JEE Advanced admit card: Candidate must carry the hard copy of the downloaded admit card to the examination centre. Only those candidates, who carry valid admit cards to the examination hall, will be allowed to write the examination. JEE Advanced 2014 admit card will bear the name, roll number of JEE Advanced, photograph, signature, date of birth, and category of the candidate, along with name and address of the candidate’s examination centre along with the language opted for the exam’s question paper.
Also, on production of the downloaded admit card, candidates will be given their original JEE admit card at the examination hall to replace the downloaded version. Any impersonation will lead to immediate disqualification of the candidate.
Stationery: Candidates should mandatorily carry extra black ball point pens to darken the correct answers in their optical response sheet (ORS). Candidates must ensure that while they darken the bubbles representing the correct answer, they should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the page below. This lower page containing impressions of the bubbles marked will be given to candidates by the invigilator at the end of the examination.
Water bottle: Students are advised to carry their own water bottles although most of the examination centers provide this facility. As we know that while appearing for entrance exams such as JEE Advanced 2014, a student’s stress level may increase and at times such as these it is advised to drink some water and relax for 2-3 minutes. However, make sure that nothing is written on your bottle because this can even lead to you being disqualified for using unfair means in the exam.
Wrist Watch: It is advisable to wear a wrist watch for the examination to ensure that you are right on track as far as time is concerned while giving the exam.
Clip board/card board/writing board: It is advisable to carry a clip board to the examination. This can prove extremely useful if there is any problem with the desk you are made to sit at. However, ensure that nothing is written on the board because in such a scenario you can even be pulled out from the exam for using unfair means.
While the above mentioned list mentions things you should definitely carry to your JEE Advanced 2014 exam centre, there are also some things which are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. These include electronic devices like mobile phone, calculator, iPod, iPad etc. Further, items like log table, abacus, slide rule, book, notebook and geometry box. Apart from these any other means of calculation will also not allowed inside the examination hall.
With this, Shiksha.com wishes all the candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2014 – Best of Luck!
