JEE Advanced 2014: Seat intake at IIT Kharagpur
The first of the IITs(Indian Institute of Technology) to be established, IIT Kharagpur boasts the largest campus, the most departments, and the highest student enrolment. Admissions to undergraduate programmes at the institute is done through JEE(Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced. The exam is a gateway for admissions to four-year B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology), five-year BArch degree, five-year Dual Degree (Integrated Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology) and five-year integrated MSc (Master of Sciences) courses.
The institute has an intake capacity of 1341 students. Out of these, 682 seats are reserved for general category students,360 for OBC, 199 for SC and 100 for ST students. The remaining seats are reserved for the physically disable students from all these four categories.
