Founded in 1959, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) is counted amongst the finest, globally reputed higher technological institutions of the country. The institute offers high quality academic programmes including BTech, MTech, Dual degree MTech, Dual degree BS and MS in Physics, MSc, MS, MA, MBA, and PhD degrees.

Admission to the institute's undergraduate programmes is based on JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced which is a gateway for admissions to 838 seats spread across 30 disciplines.
