JEE Advanced 2014: Special guidelines for counselling
The counselling process for JEE Advanced 2014 commenced today, on June 20, 2014 with over 27000 students applying for admissions to 9,784 seats at IITs and ISM, Dhanbad. The exam results were declared on June 19, 2014.
Students, who have qualified for JEE Advanced 2014 can register for the exam on the official website and the last date to register for the same is June 24(upto 5 pm).You can also check out the couselling procudure for JEE Advanced 2014 at shiksha.com
Though the general guidelines to register for online choice filling has been stated, there are some special guidelines that aspirants need to adhere to. Listed below are the same:
Physical fitness:
It's a must for aspirants, who have qualified in JEE Advanced 2014, to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the format given here(annexure 2). Only students who are physically fit will be admitted to pursue a course at any of the participating institutes.
Mining and Geology/Geophysics Courses:
- Anyone who opts for Mining Engineering and Mining Machinery courses and Integrated M.Sc programs in Geology/Geophysics should note the following points:
- They shouldn’t have any form of color blindness
- They will also have to submit a certificate from a registered medical practitioner to this effect at the time of seat allocation and admission.
- For students applying for Mining Engineering, the standards of visual acuity with or without glasses will be strictly adhered to which will be based on the DGMS Circular 14 of 1972.
- Aspirants with one-eyed vision will not be allowed to work underground.
- Students seeking admission to Petroleum Engineering related Courses and M.Sc. Tech. Applied Geology should be free from color blindness.
- Anyone showing signs of the above mentioned limitations will not be granted admissions to Mining Engineering or Mining Machinery Engineering.
- ISM Dhanbad will not admit female candidates to its Mining Engineering and Mining Machinery Engineering.
- However, IIT Kharagpur and IIT (BHU) Varanasi will submit such aspirants if they fulfill the medical conditions.
Aspirants should make sure they meet all these criteria in case if they opt for these courses. In case , if the students do not meet these requirements and still opt for these courses, their admission will be cancelled later. Please note, such aspirants will not be given admission to any other course of study in any of the institutes.
