JEE Main 2015: B.Arch Exam Student Reactions

JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Arch admissions concluded at 5:00 pm on April 4, 2015. The exam commenced at 2:30 pm. While, Paper 1 of JEE Main 2015 began around 9:30 am and got over at 12: 30 pm. Check JEE Main 2015 Student reactions for Paper 1 here.

A large bunch of students that shiksha.com spoke to were not happy with the Mathematics part of the paper. However, we met a few such students, who found the paper easy and were confident enough to clear the exam.

Aakash, a student who took the exam from Patna, Bihar said, “The paper was easier than the previous year. Anyone who doesn’t know drawing can qualify too if he/she has studied for the exam even fo sometime – few weeks or a month or so.  If I am not wrong, I solved about 70 questions and attempted 2 drawings”.

He further shared, “ You know, there were a few students who did not have an idea about what Paper 2 is all about. They did not know why are they taking this part of JEE Main paper and how or what is the paper pattern. They just filled the form because their friends filled it. They just wanted to accompany their friends. I am amazed”.

Another student, Abhishek Singh from Bhopal believed that if a student had a strong command on drawing, he would be able to clear the paper. He shared, “ The paper – overall – was good. But I think that if your drawing is good then any student would find Paper 2 easier than paper 1 with a little bit focus on Maths”.

Worried about the cut off for this year’s B.Arch exam, Pranav Sinha from Delhi said, " I tried giving my best but let's see what happens. Moreover, I also am a General category student and that's why stresses too. You know for a general category student, it’s difficult".

Sharing his views on the paper, he further added, " The exam was not that bad as the others said it was. Maths had 20 questions, Aptitude had 59 while the drawing section had was of 70 marks. I mainly solved the MCQs of aptitude test. But, could not solve much questions from the Maths section. Maths was tough though. As for the drawing part is concerned, I attempted two of the drawings.

According to one of architecture experts from a coaching institute, the Mathematics part of JEE Main 2015 Paper 2 was of very high level. Students would not have been trained for this especially, will not be able to crack the exam.
