JEE Main 2015 Topper Mukund Mundhra (AIR 6) studied for 12 hours a day
A student of Delhi Public School, Rohini, Mukund Mundhra is the AIR 6 topper for JEE Main 2015. The ranks for JEE Main 2015 were declared on July 1, 2015.

Being ranked at the 6th position in JEE Main 2015 came as an unexpected surprise for Mukund who believed that he would only feature in the Top 100 list. A football and a volleyball player, Mukund loves watching movies & TV shows and listening to music in his free time.
In an interview with shiksha.com, Mukund Mundhra talks about his success strategies and future plans. Read the excerpts from the interview below.
JEE Main 2015 Ranks: Check Top Scores, Ranks & Board Marks of Toppers
Q. Congratulations on your achievement. How are you feeling being the JEE Main 2015 topper?
A. Thank you so much. I feel great. I am on top of the world. I am really happy.
Q. Did you expect it?
A. No. Not at all. This was never expected. I thought I might just land into the Top 100 list but AIR 6 too much. Something that I never ever expected.
Q. How long have you been preparing for?
A. I have been preparing for this since Class 8. When I was in Class 8th, I joined FIITJEE’s 5 year programme. And I have been preparing since then.
Q. Can you share your class 12th Board marks , your score in JEE Main and your rank and score in JEE Advanced?
- Class 12th Board Marks – 98.2%

- JEE Advanced 2015 Rank - 91
- JEE Advanced 2015 score – 360/504
Q. You were ranked 91st in JEE Advanced and 6th in JEE Main. How did your parents react to it?
A. My parents are elated. Neither did I expect nor did they. Its’s a big surprise for us.
Q. Which institute are you vying for and which is the course you aim to pursue?
A. Well, I would be getting into IIT Delhi for Computer Science. If given a chance, I would have got into IIT Bombay. But, unfortunately my JEE Advanced 2015 rank is not that much. However, my second option would be IIT Kanpur.
Q. Have you take any other exam/s besides JEE Main and Advanced?
A. No. I haven’t. I focused only on JEE.
Q. Any tips for aspirants taking the exam next year?
A. Anyone planning to take the exam should be very focused. Your goal should be very clear and you must work hard towards it. Also, aspirants should try not to waste time as time management is very important at this stage.
Q. So, tell us something about your family?
A. My father is a Doctor and his name is Dr. S.K.Mundhra. My mother is a housewife and her name is Sangeeta Mundhra. I have an elder sister – Anushree who is two years elder to me. She is studying Economics Honours at Hansraj College, Delhi University.
Q. What are your plans for the future?
A. I would want to go for my higher studies in this stream only – Computer Science Technology.
