The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four more persons in connection with the JEE Main 2021 scam. The arrested accused are identified asΒ lab technicians Arvind Saini and Kuldeep Garg, assistant professor Sandeep Gupta and peon Tulsi RamΒ of a private engineering college. Earlier, seven persons, including Affinity Education Directors Siddharth Krishna andΒ VishambarΒ Mani Tripathi, and four employees of the company were arrestedΒ in connection with irregularities in the JEEΒ Main scam.Β 

Sources said more arrests were expected to take place in the coming days and many people were being questioned in the case.Β Β 

As per the FIR registered in the case, the accused were manipulating the online JEE Main exam and were facilitating students to get admission to top NITs (National Institute of Technology).Β The accused used to charge around Rs 15 lakh from candidates in exchange for someone else taking the JEE Main exam.Β As per a statement issued by the CBI, accused connived with the supervisors of the recently concluded Session 4 of the JEE Main examΒ centresΒ located atΒ SonepatΒ in Haryana and a few moreΒ centresΒ in the state and made necessary arrangements for running fraudulent practices during the exams.Β Β

Searches were conducted at 20 places across India, whichΒ led to the recovery of 25 laptops, seven computers, around 30 post-dated cheques along with voluminous incriminating documents, devices, including marksheets of students.Β Β
