KEAM 2016 Eligibility Criteria & Test Centers

 

KEAM 2016 exam will be conducted by Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) on April 25 and 26, 2016 at different colleges in Kerala. Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical (KEAM) 2016 exam is a state level entrance examination conducted by CET for admission to UG programmes including B.Tech offered by various colleges in Kerala. There will be two papers for KEAM 2016 exam; while the first paper will be held on April 25, 2016, second will be conducted on April 26, 2016. Candidates can apply for the exam online from Janaury 3, 2016. The last date for KEAM 2016 online registration is January 29, 2016.

Applicants who are planning to appear for the exam can get KEAM 2016 syllabus and pattern online and make preparations for subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The duration for KEAM 2016 exam will be two and half hour with each paper carrying 120 multiple choice questions. There will be negative marking for every incorrect answer too. KEAM 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants seeking admissions to engineering colleges in Kerala must fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates with Indian citizenship can apply for the exam.
  • Applicants who are of Kerala origin shall be categorized as a Keralite for the purpose of admission.
  • Candidates whose parents are All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) transferred to Kerala too can apply for the exam. However, such applicant should submit a certificate from the competent authority saying that their parent/parents are AIS officer allotted to Kerala.
  • Candidates applying for B.Tech courses must have cleared HSC exam of Kerala or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • He/she must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate in Physics and Chemistry.
  • Candidates having diploma in engineering or equivalent are also eligible for KEAM exam. However, they must ensure that the diploma they hold is recognized by the State Board of Technical Education.
  • Also, candidates who have undergone a minimum of three year institutional course from an AICTE recognized institution can apply for the exam. However, in this case he/she should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the final year of their diploma course.
  • CET will not consider candidates for admission via KEAM when he/she has completed their diploma from colleges affiliated to Kerala Agricultural University and Kerala Veterinary & Animal Science University.
  • Only those candidates are eligible to appear for the exam who have completed 17 years as of December 31, 2016.

  • He/she has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of five years within the period of 12 years of study.
  • Candidate who had studied in Kerala from Class 8th to 12th.
  • Studied 10+2 in Kerala and whose parents are Non- Keralites belonging to the Government of India/Defense Service, posted to Kerala.
  • Has studied 10+2 in Kerala and whose parents are Non- Keralites serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years Iincluding the period of study of the qualifying exam.
