Last date to apply for JEE in MP extended till Jan 6, 2013
Good news for JEE 2014 aspirants appearing from Madhya Pradesh!
According to the JEE Main official website, the last date to fill and submit the online JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) application forms for students of Madhya Pradesh has been extended to January 6, 2014 from December 26, 2013. However, other terms and conditions for the examination remain the same.
A month back, the MP state government scrapped the Pre-Engineering Test (PET) organized by the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB). It was also announced that admissions to engineering colleges in the state from the next academic session will be based on the scores of JEE Main conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).
The decision to scrap MP-PET was confirmed a little late on November 27 while the JEE online forms were made available from November 15, 2013 which led to the extension of JEE Main online application submission dates.
Arun Nahar, Director, Technical Education informed that the decision to extend the last date was made by CBSE after a request was sent by the state government. He added "As we were little late in announcing the decision of taking admission in engineering through JEE-Main, we had requested the authorities to extend the date," reported a national daily.
The JEE Main 2014 offline exam will be held on April 6, 2014, while the online exam is scheduled between April 9 - 19, 2014.
