Life at VIT: There’s study pressure but also freedom to choose faculty & schedule
A ‘Counter-Strike’ video game freak, Akash Gupta, first year student of CSE with specialization in bioinformatics at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a regular boy-next door who very candidly confesses VIT is the place to be if you want to learn new things each day.
Akash reveals that students should choose to join VIT, Vellore only if they are extremely serious about studying because there is a lot of study pressure. He further reveals that the institute’s infrastructure and quality of education are worth boasting about. Another unique feature about the education system at VIT is that the students can select their own subjects and faculty from second semester onwards.
The staff and students at this ace engineering college are extremely friendly and are always ready to help out if someone is stuck or has some problem. However, he feels that the interaction level among female and male students should be more and also that the girl to boy ratio should increase in the college.
