Chemical engineering looks like the next hot favourite of the industry after IT professionals. Heres a new trend

These days majority of the students are pursuing MBA with the sole objective of getting jobs with fatter pay packages.

The trend is set to change now. A report says that in Chandigarh the chemical engineering graduates are leading the new trend.

In University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET) three engineering students have been offered highest package of Rs 9 lakhs per annum. Four students have bagged jobs with salary packages of Rs 8 lakhs.

While 44 students out of 60 have already been placed with worthwhile salaries, some of them have also landed up with double offers.

The average pay package for this year was Rs.4.7 lakhs which is comparatively better than other departments. Indian Oil Corporation has offered a lucrative package of Rs 9 lakhs per annum while UOP offered Rs 8 lakh per annum salary.

According to sources, each year the placement seems to improve due to its wide network across the globe through its alumni.

With each passing year the passing year the demand for trained professionals is only increasing in the chemical industry.The campus placement saw 10 new companies this year from the 25 companies that are regular visitors. Read More
