How I chose my course and college: Asutosh Maharana

I chose Science as my stream in HSC in Odisha State Board). The reason why I took Science was pretty simple; I was fascinated by the gifts of Science and my parents also recommended Science. (“There is a lot of scope in this field”). I took admission in Nayagarh Autonomous College, and you may ask why. Well, the reason is that it was near my home and we had good coaching facilities there, so I thought it would be better to study there. Nayagarh Autonomous College is home to many students from western Odisha and . You could find hostels and coaching classes for your kid easily. My parents thought it was better for me to stay back in my home town.
I took admission in Institute of Technical Education and Research after my HSC education. Getting admission to this college is pretty simple, i.e. appearing for Siksha 'O' Anusandhan Admission Test (SAAT) which is basically of the same format as JEE or any other entrance test. You can also get admission through your JEE-Mains score. I got admission through my JEE-Main score. Regarding JEE-Mains, I had appeared for AIPMT and AIIMS but unfortunately, I couldn’t succeed in both of those. You might want to know about the best way of succeeding in the entrance exam. Well, I would suggest you to make most of your classes 11th and 12th because they build the base for your future. Then, give as many mock tests as you can to get a clear idea of what you are going to face.
That was all about admissions. Now, I will take you through my college. Well, ITER is located at Bhubaneswar. The programs offered by ITER are AICTE-approved and many have been accredited by the prestigious accreditation body ABET, USA. The campus is connected through Wi-Fi and is well-accessible. The institute has taken every measure to ensure the prevention of any kind of harassment. So, you can relax there just like at home. I had an amazing first year. When I first came here, I came to know that I was going to share my room with seniors, so I was scared. You know how the movies project the seniors. But the reality was quite the opposite as they were just like my brothers. They taught me how to face any kind of obstacles in life and yes, we had some great moments of cricket and NFS: Most Wanted. Then, they graduated with a sad separation following right after. I stayed in the same room and welcomed new roommates, and we are still here in our final year. As time passed, I made some amazing new friends and we did some great projects. Now, let me come to the placement section. Our college is known for its quality education and placements. As a fourth-year student, I can say that if you are from CSE or CSIT, campus opportunities are huge but if you are from any core branch, you get less opportunities as compared to these two. You may say that campus selection is the sum of knowledge, communication skills, and a little luck.
