Mystory@Jay Patel: How I selected my college and course
From my childhood days I admired engineers who used to build houses and buildings. So I wanted to be an engineer and build houses. At that time, I did not know that they are called civil engineers.
My parents wanted me to do mechanical engineering as they wanted to setup a production unit. But my goal was final I want to become a civil engineer.. My first step towards this goal was taken when my father went to the ACPC office where the admission round was being conducted. I was earlier offered admission in LD engineering college which is near my house around one hour distance so I could have stayed at home and completed my engineering but I wanted to study in BVM engineering college at Vallabh vidhyanagar which is one of the oldest and pioneer engineering institute in India.
So I took admission there and completed my civil engineering. The faculty were experienced and laboratories were fully equipped. So, knowledge was imparted in a proper manner and I proudly cleared the GATE exams and also stood first in my college. Thanks to the knowledge given by professors. Today I can proudly say that I am a BVMite. They say that 'once a BVMite always a BVMite'.
