How I chose my course and college: Shravan Naikini

GNITC

When I was in school I was always interested in knowing how things worked and was inspired by various aesthetic designs of products around me like laptops, televisions, mobile phones, etc. I was very good at drawing objects. I was deeply inspired by super fine aesthetic designs of Apple products. I started to know how products are designed and developed in production area. Inspired by one of the famous personalities around the world like Steve jobs, I was very sure that I should do what I wanted to do. With all these, my uncle suggested me to go for mechanical engineering in graduation.

How I cracked college admissions

Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus (GNITC) is one the premiere and quality engineering institutes in Hyderabad. One can get admission in this college with Telangana EAMCET or JEE Main score. After completing X standard I joined one of the reputed intermediate colleges of Warangal where I was trained for both board exams and TS-EAMCET. In 2015, with adequate EAMCET score, fortunately I got admission in GNITC, which I believe is one of the fortune turns of my life. Once you get this college in EAMCET counselling, the next steps get very simple like submitting various certificates and documents in college account block. The best way to get admission in a good college is to prepare for entrance exam from very beginning. Join any good intermediate college where you can prepare for entrance tests along with your board exams.

Life at GNITC

College life in GNITC is good with my experience. This college has awesome infrastructure where there are separate blocks for every branch. One of the best things about this college is it has awesome sports facilities. It has separate indoor sports complex. Regular technical and cultural fests are hosted in campuses like IGNITE and Livewire. Famous stars like Honey Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, and Arjun Kapoor have visited this college.

Talking about academics this college has average faculty like most other colleges but lab facilities are good. There is an innovation centre in this college to learn different things like Robotics, Cloud Computing etc. Talking about placements this college is one amongst top 10 best colleges, which provide placements. 850 plus students were placed in different companies last year. As I am in 3rd year, I never attended any campus interview. I am sure that I have opted the right path in the form of mechanical engineering as this is what I wanted to do since school time. This is one of the biggest engineering branches, which is all about physics. One of the mistakes I made in my graduation is I did not concentrate much on my first year score which I later realised was very important. I suggest students to concentrate on scoring good percentage in first year as there will be common and easy subjects.

My college education at Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus has been playing a vital role in shaping my career. We get to attend soft skills and aptitude training classes every semester, which is beneficial for students to improve their skills. Innovation centre is the place where I like spending my time, as I am too interested in building products and looking forward to attend campus interviews. When I look back, things that worked for me were my Class 12th as well as TS-EAMCET scores that helped me getting admission in this college.
