NATA 2015: Checklist for the exam

The official website of NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) 2015 has clearly mentioned few dos and don’ts for the applicants appearing for the exam this year. It is mandatory for all the aspirants to follow those instructions to be able to appear for the exam. Take a look at the following points that one must keep in mind before going to the test centre.
1. Reach the test centre on time
Aspirants appearing for the exam must reach the test centre one hour before the scheduled time of the test. Those reaching the test centre after the commencement of the exam will not be allowed to take the exam.
2. Identification Documents
Candidates entering the exam centre will entertained only if they show their Identification proof. It is mandatory for all the aspirants to carry atleast two ID proofs to the test centre. Those who fails to show the ID proof will not be allowed to enter the exam. Also, the candidate will forfeit the test.
Candidates are supposed to show a valid, updated and original proof of identification. If an invigilator needs to check an additional ID proof of a student, it is mandatory for them to show another ID. Not only on entry to the exam centre, aspirants can be asked to show their ID during the exam also. Candidates can bring any of the following documents:
• Admit card of class twelfth with photo and signature (in original) for candidates awaiting for the results
• Student ID card of the candidate where he/ she is currently enrolled.
For the supplement ID proof, any of the following supplement can be used to support the primary ID:
• A government-issued unexpired identification proof (including to passport, state ID cards, driver's license, national identification).
• Original confirmation of identity letter from the educational institution which must contain the candidate's birth date, a latest and recognizable photo, signature of the student and the date issued.
3. Appointment Voucher
The official notice informs that “the appointment voucher is issued to the candidate at the time of registration. The appointment voucher confirms the candidate's test date, time of test and Test Center. The voucher will also show Candidate ID and Appointment Number with Exam Key.” It is mandatory for all the candidates to keep their appointment voucher in their bags as it will be a sort of ID proof of an applicant.
4. Stationery box
A candidate must have following items in his/ her Stationery box:
• Pencils
• Erasers
• Geometry instrument box
• Blue ink pen / Blue ink ball point pen
The official notice has clearly mentions that “Three or four sharpened soft-lead (2B & HB) pencils and a good eraser (Pencils and erasers will not be supplied at the Test Center). Mechanical pencils (Clutch pencils) are not permitted.”
5. Colors and Brushes
For the drawing section, an aspirant must have enough material to attempt the exam well. No colors, brushes or paint will be provided by the test centers. Candidates have to get their own material for drawing. The set of colors must include Water/ Poster colours, pastels, crayons, etc.
6. No personal items
Except for the stationery box and ID proofs, candidates are not allowed to carry anything to the test lab. It is advisable that you must not carry any bag or any expensive item as the authorities will not be responsible for any kind of mishappening taking place. Therefore, no mobile phones, watches, other electronics and personal bags should not be carried to the exam centre.
