NATA 2016 Eligibility Criteria and Test Centers!

The eligibility criteria for NATA 2016 is same as last year's exam and it's important for every candidate to fulfill the basic requirements as mentioned in the brochure, to appear for the exam. National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level common entrance exam, conducted by Council of Architecture, for admissions to 5 years B. Arch Degree course. Candidates appearing for NATA 2016 can fill up an online application form to register successfully. NATA test will be conducted in two parts- Phase I & Phase II. While, Phase I exam will be held between April 1 and May 28, 2016, Phase II test will begin from June 6 and last till August 20, 2016.

By participating in NATA 2016 exam, candidates will be able to take admission in various government colleges of Architecture in India with their NATA score. The last date to register for the exam is August 18, 2016. Candidates who are facing difficulty in understanding the application process for NATA 2016, can check instructions to apply for the exam without making a mistake. However, before filling up the registration form, it's important that applicants go through the eligibility criteria for NATA, to make sure their registration is valid.

NATA 2016 Eligibility Criteria                          

  • The most important and basic requirement to appear for the exam is that a candidate should have passed SSC (Class X) or equivalent examination and above with a minimum 50% marks.
  • Aspirants who have qualified an aptitude test in architecture and have secured at least 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent exams with Mathematics as main subject, can take up the exam.
  • No lateral entry at any year/stage of B. Arch course based on any qualification, will be allowed.

Please note that entry through NATA score shall not be valid for a period of two years from the year in which a candidate has appeared. The application fee for NATA test is Rs. 1250, which excludes the processing charges.

NATA 2016 Test Centers

NATA test centers are divided by regions and candidates had to select a region and ANY ONE of the test centers in that region, during the application process. The list of test centers for the year 2016 has not been activated yet and students need to wait for the same to be updated on the official website.

NATA 2016 exam will be conducted all across India. Candidates can choose any location as per their conveniences, however, the same will be allotted to them only when available. Students who have already registered for the exam can take a look at the syllabus and Pattern for NATA 2016, which is divided into two parts- the Drawing Test and the Aesthetic  Sensitivity Test.

The drawing test is purely based on imagination and observation skills and the Aesthetic Sensitivity Test is based on architectural awareness and general knowledge. NATA 2016 results are expected to be declared in the month of September.
