Prepare a schedule, revise the topics and solve previous year question papers to achieve high rank in competitive exams like VITEEE.

Preparation for an entrance exam in the last month is crucial for students. To score high in the VITEEE or any other engineering entrance exam is possible only when the student prepare for the exam with complete focus.

This article would help the student when they are prepared well for the exam. Here are some of the tips to help students in the last month for achieving a good rank or a high score.

  1. Revision of topics with higher weightage in the exam or asked most of the times in last year papers
  2. Solving previous year and mock papers in the same environment, for example, VIITEEE is an online exam
  3. Preparation of Aptitude and English should be done in the last months as these sections help the student in securing a good rank

Correct Study Material (Reference Books/Notes)

The study material or reference books are nearly the same for most of the engineering entrance exams only a little modification based on the analysis of previous year papers is to be done. So, the study material, which comes for JEE Main is sufficient for the preparation of VITEEE as the questions asked in it is near of the same level.

For VITEEE, many books are not present in the market, however, some of the publications are publishing books specifically designed for VITEEE.

  • Books or Study material that can help to secure a rank in VITEEE
  • For Concepts of Mathematics- R.D Sharma
  • For Concepts of Physics- H.C Verma
  • For Concepts of Chemistry- N.C.E.R.T
  • For English- Any competitive book of grammar (Wren and Martin)
  • For Aptitude- R.S Agarwal
  • Study material or solved papers- Disha Publications
  • Mock Papers - Download from VIT websites

Highest scoring topics

Based on some previous year papers the important topics of various subjects for VITEEE are given below

Mathematics – Sets, Functions, A.P, G.P and H.P, Exponential Series, Matrix, Inverse of Matrix, Binomial Theorem, Calculus, Probability, Trigonometry Coordinate- Geometry, 3D, etc.

Physics – Dimensional Analysis and Significant Figures, One Dimensional Motion, Freely Falling Bodies, Potential Energy Stored in a Spring, Linear Momentum and Collisions, Angular Velocity and Angular Acceleration, SHM, Dipole, Electric Current and Magnetism, etc.

Chemistry – Solid State, Polymers, General Organic Chemistry, Thermochemistry, Colloids, S, P, D, F Block Elements, Electronic Configuration, MOT, Chemical Equilibrium and Kinetics, Carbohydrates, etc.

Revision Approach/ Study plan

To prepare for VITEEE, the study plan should be simple and regular revision is a must. The study plan could be formulated in a planned manner as:

  • During the first six to seven months, the candidate must work on building and improving concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • In the eighth and ninth month, solve previous year papers as this would help in assessing weak areas that require attention
  • In the next two months, identify and work on the weak concepts from English and Aptitude Section too
  • In the last month, practise mock papers as this would help in developing speed and accuracy in the real-time scenario

Self-evaluation

Self-evaluation is very much important for a student preparing for a competitive exam. This would help in assessing the preparation and understanding the sections and in a better way.

To self-evaluate the performance, sample paper and mock papers should be solved firstly within in prescribed time.
