Reaction to CBSE Class 12 Board Results, declared a day before JEE Advanced 2016
CBSE declared the class 12th result a day before JEE Advanced 2016 on May 21, 2016 on the official website of CBSE. Most of the students who appeared for JEE Advanced on May 22 are unhappy with the CBSE’s decision of declaring the result just a day before JEE Advanced. Last year the CBSE class 12 result was declared a day later the JEE Advanced test, but this year the result was declared just a day before the main exam, leaving many students in stress, especially students who could not do well in their class 12th board.

Earlier, CBSE was going to declare the result on April 27, but it changes the date and declared the same on May 21, 2016 instead. Shiksha spoke to the students who appeared for JEE Advanced 2016 at a test centre in Noida and found that most of the students were stressed as they couldn’t focus on their studies a day before the exam because of the CBSE result. Here's what they said:
Pratyush, a student of DPS Greater Noida, said that it's injustice towards student. “Most of us were in pressure already and the result of class 12th CBSE board made things worse for students whose scores were not good. There’s already too much pressure on students. Government should have declared the result a day after the JEE Advanced 2016."
Another student Ankur Jakar, a dropout, said, "Last year the result was declared on the next day of JEE Advanced 2016. I expected it to be declared after JEE Advanced this year as well, but it was announced a day before the exam, leaving many students in so much stress. Some of my friends were in so much pressure after discovering that there performance in CBSE class 12th board is not as they expected.”
Similarly, another student Tarun from MVM, Salarpur, felt that it was wrong on CBSE’s part to declare the result a day before JEE Advanced, which is considered to be the most important engineering entrance exam in the country, he added, “There may be students who are strong enough to handle situation like this, but not all students are same. A friend of mine was really upset yesterday when he called me up to tell his CBSE class 12th result. He said he is not sure whether he will be able to clear JEE Advanced as his class 12th board result is not as he has expected.”

Shiksha also got in touch with few parents at the centre. Naresh Chandra Gupta, father of Satvik Gupta, a student of Renaissance School, Bulandshaher, said, "My son was little tensed yesterday after the class 12th result was declared. Though, his marks were not bad, but the overall result pressure made him little nervous about JEE Advanced."
